Steven D. Urban, the president and owner of UFAC, has been involved in the delivery of financial planning and investment advisory services for over 25 years. He is licensed as an attorney and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Illinois. He has also earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designations. He received a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and a law degree from DePaul University College of Law.
Lisa Sherwood is a financial and tax advisor with the firm. She is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Illinois and has worked with UFAC since 2000, in addition to several years of prior experience in the financial services industry. She received a degree in finance from the University of Iowa.
Dan Huh graduated from Bradley University in 1992 with a bachelor's degree in Economics after which he worked in tax and investments for various companies, including Zacks Investment Research, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and H&R Block. He joined UFAC from 2000 to 2008, taking a few years to obtain necessary coursework in preparation for the CPA exam and also working at Northwestern Mutual, returning to the team in 2013. He is currently licensed as a Certified Financial Planner™ and a CPA candidate.
Jeremy Ander is a financial and tax advisor and has been with the firm since 2007. Jeremy is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Illinois and has earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation. Jeremy received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois and a master's degree in Business Administration from San Diego State University. Prior to joining UFAC, Jeremy worked in marketing for accounting and consulting firms Deloitte and CBIZ.
Jennifer Sebie is the office manager at UFAC. She began working at UFAC part-time as an Assistant Financial Analyst in 2011 while finishing her B.B.A. in Accounting at Loyola University in Chicago. Upon completion of her degree in 2014, she began working full-time at the firm and transitioned into the role of office manager.
Ryan Silberman graduated from The University of Iowa in 2021 with a degree in Finance and a minor in Political Science. Ryan is pursuing a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certificate and plans to finish in the summer of 2024. In his free time Ryan likes to explore Chicago for new great restaurants and enjoys to ski during the winter months.
Mike Danehl joined us in 2017 as a financial and tax advisor and immediately became an important member of our practice. With his tax and financial expertise, he has proven himself invaluable to all of us at the firm and the clients that are fortunate enough to work with him.
Jade Eggleston started with the firm in 2018 as an administrative assistant. Jade excelled in that role for five years and proved to everyone that she was thorough, detail-oriented, and had a genuine desire to learn about other aspects of the firm. With that mindset, Jade is in the process of transitioning to a paraprofessional role where she is expanding her learning into other firm services, like investment advisory and tax compliance.
Andrew Kitay CPA, CFP®, is a financial and tax advisor that has been with the firm for over four years. With a thorough and detail-oriented approach to his work, Andrew endears himself to all of the clients he works with, as well as all of us at the firm.
Nate Urban is a senior financial and tax analyst. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, but decided he wanted to give it a go in the family business and joined the firm in 2018. While working full-time, he completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the University of Chicago with concentrations in finance and economics. He is currently pursuing licensure as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Illinois.
